Privacy policy

AEOToolList ("we," "us," "our") publishes independent reviews and comparisons of AEO/GEO tools at aeotoollist.com. This policy explains what information we collect from visitors, why, and what choices you have about it.
Information we collect
Information you give us directly. The only information we collect directly is what you submit through the contact form: your email address, the reason for your message, and the message text itself. There's no account or sign-up required to use the site.
Information collected automatically. As of this policy's effective date, AEOToolList does not run analytics or tracking scripts, and does not set cookies to identify or track visitors. Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically logs standard request metadata (IP address, browser type, timestamp) for security and operational purposes — the same as virtually any web server — which we don't access for marketing or profiling.
Information from affiliate links. Some links on this site are affiliate links (see our affiliate disclosure). When you click one and land on a vendor's site, that vendor's own privacy policy governs what they collect — we don't receive any personal information about you from that click.
How we use your information
We use contact form submissions only to reply to your question, investigate and correct a factual error you've reported, or follow up on a partnership/press inquiry. We don't add your email to a mailing list, sell it, or share it with anyone outside the service providers listed below.
Cookies and tracking
We don't currently use cookies for analytics or advertising. If that changes — for example, if we add site analytics — we'll update this policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.
Third-party service providers
A few vendors process data on our behalf so the site can run:
- Resend — delivers contact form emails to our inbox. Resend sees the email address and message you submit; see Resend's privacy policy.
- Neon — hosts the Postgres database behind our blog. It stores article and category content, not visitor data.
- Vercel — hosts the site itself and its serverless functions.
None of these vendors use your information for anything beyond making the site work.
Data retention
Contact form messages are retained in our email inbox for as long as needed to resolve your inquiry and keep a record of factual corrections. We don't maintain a separate marketing database.
Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what information we have from your contact form submission, correct it, or delete it, by emailing hello@aeotoollist.com. If you're in the EU/UK, you have these rights under the GDPR; if you're in California, you have similar rights under the CCPA. We'll respond to any request within a reasonable time.
Children's privacy
AEOToolList is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above. Material changes — like adding analytics or a mailing list — will be called out clearly, not buried in a date change.
